Social Networking
Social networking is a really positive and negative thing. Things like bebo, facebook and twitter are worldwide communication sites. Its great to be able to keep in contact with someone on the other side of the world or even a mate down the country. But these sites can have a negative impact too as people become obsessed. Instead of ringing your friend or family member or just meeting up with them, we would rather sit for hours glued to a computer screen and become oblivious to whats going on around us.
Bebo was the first proper social network I got involved in and it was great . It was new, interesting and I was finally starting to use a computer and wasn't so computer illiterate anymore. Like the technology is amazing and being part of it is even more amazing but there was also a downfall. I sat for hours in front of it and became a bit of a zombie. But when facebook became the new and better social network I got a bit wiser but still was slightly obsessed.
I do think social networking is good for keeping in touch and learning more about technlogy and its for everyone too.But things like online bullying among teens and a woman who killed her baby who wouldn't stop crying when she was playing farmville is terrifying.
We need to learn to enjoy these social networks in moderation and not become physco obsessed people who have nothing better to do then sit infront of a screen all day living life online.. but instead go out and live it and not be so reliant on facebook or twitter to interact with people.
Me and Online PR
Online PR is one of my more enjoyable lectures.I actually dont mind going to this class. In my opinion it is a subject that is relevant to our course. The world is pretty much online and everything from shopping to getting the newspaper to ordering a take-away or renting a dvd can be done online.Even getting an education can be done online. The internet will continue to grow as the years go on and will become more advanced so we need to be able to keep up.
In OnlinePR lecture we learn about e-business and advertising online. This is a big part of today as majority of people are online. We learn how quick this can change from one day to another. We can now create a webpage and blogs which is incredibly useful to our public relations degree.Social networking is highlighted in this course and how influential it is to us and to advertising online. We learn how to use techniques that will be relevant to us in the fututre and help us progress in our career in PR.
So yeah, Online PR is pretty important and relevant in todays society.

Due Date
Went to see due date at the weekand which has Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis(Alan from the Hangover) in it...Downey plays an expecting father Peter Highman( Downey) who has a random encounter with Ethan Tramblay (Galifianakis). This film was really funny and I had a really good laugh at it. Downey is extremely short tempered and his random outbursts of rage are brilliant . Galifianakis character "Ethan" has a unique way of gettin under downey's skin...His one liners "Dad, You where like a father to me" lol and incredibly stupid personality make this film. He's not as good as Alan from the Hangover but I still got a really good laugh from his performance. Due Date is a good film to see if you want a laugh , you might think it could of been better and funnier bit it's still worth going to see, well i think so .
